    <description>&lt;P&gt;Why is it for&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;network / interface / &amp;lt;some interface&amp;gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I can't use a name for a zone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I wanted to have a template that had all of my zones in it, but unlike policies and objects there is no shared attribute.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Which means I have recreate my zones for each template I have interface definitions.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Am I missing something ??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

This is the way how the templates work. There is no shared attribute in template settings. You can use template stacks to stack different settings together. This way you are able to push for example User ID settings to all firewalls where you need it and you only need to configure the settings once.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But settings which depend on each other (like interfaces-&amp;gt;zones) have to be crated in the same template and cannot be distributed across multiple templates.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Remo&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;For me the templates and template stacks are already a great feature. Specially with PAN-OS 8 where you're able to create even more of them (which helps a lot when you manage a lot of firewalls with one panorama)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But ... I agree with you. It would be even better with a hirarchy like in the device groups&lt;/P&gt;</description>
