My PAs are on PAN OS 7.1 OS, I have noticed that session info is immediately displayed in CLI when I use sh session all filter command but when I see in GUI , there is a delay or sometimes I never see that session in Web GUI >Monitor>traffic

Is this a bug ?

Hi @Psrivastava

can you provide some more details? what platform, and what is the load on both dataplane and management plane? what kind of sessions are you querying?

the CLI command extracts the session list directly from the dataplane whereas the GUI is a management process that needs to make a backend connection to the dataplane. if either plane is under heavy load this can introduce latency in that request, if your sessions are shortlived (DNS for example) the session may have already terminated by the time your query is processed
