If memory serves correctly Facebook Messenger traffic on a PC is identified as facebook-chat if you are running with SSL-Decryption or Facebook if you aren't.

I don't think blocking just Facebook Messenger is going to be all that visable unless you go through the process of trying to identify something unique you can actually trigger on. Messenger is so baked into Facebook at this point that you'll likely have a very hard time actually blocking it.
