Public Cloud Server certificate validation failed.

I get this error message “Public Cloud Server certificate validation failed. Dest Addr: wildfire.paloaltonetworks.com, Reason: self signed certificate in certificate chain”. Kindly help me resolve the issue.

Make sure that you aren't decrypting the traffic via a decryption policy.

Thank you for your response.

We do have a decrytption policy in place and we cant remove it. kindly advice the next course of action.

Try to disable the checkbox at "validate update server identity" and mark the root cert that you use of decryption as trusted root certificate. Not sure if this really works because the actual solution was already posted by @BPry. For this step you don't need to disable TLS decryption comoletely, just configure an exception for your firewall mgmt IP to wildfire.paloaltonetworks.com.

Yup as @Remo pointed out and exactly what I meant; you don't disable decryption all together, you simply create an exception so that this traffic isn't decrypted. I believe that the other soultion that @Remo presented will still fail, but I could be wrong.

I actually also don't think it will work as I assume this setting does only apply for updates (software/dynamic) and not wildfire ... but who knows ...

I also tested this and if you have ssl decryption enabled it breaks the connection.

I did the exempt for API cloud traffic and all is good now.

Now its working fine for me.
