Is it possible to upgrade PAN-OS manually without licence ?

yes, this is possible

You will need to manually download the software image from the support portal and upload + install it on the firewall

I have done the same steps but unable to ugrade to latest version .

After that i have register the device and upgrade autoatically .

Any inputs ?

@ACPL_Manmeet,

I somewhat remember issues being present if the firewall was never registered/upgraded prior attempting to perform a manual upgrade. Although I don't have a way of verifying that at the moment, I recall encountering a similar issue on a PA-500 at a customer who had simply never even registered the box and never did an upgrade while under support.

Also make sure the dynamic updates are current. Some versions of code require newer app-threat signatures.

@BPry -I Have observed same issue n PA-820 but still no getting guranteed solution over this .

Some are sayingpossible anad some are not .

@OtakarKlier- I am asking for solution without registeration of device ...dynamic updates are possible after registeration of device only .

Hello,

You should be able to update the dynamic ones in a similar fashion as the software. Download it from the suport site and manually upload and install it.
