We have PA 3020 in Active PAssive mode.

We have link monitoring enabled on both PA for uplink and downlink.

For some reason I need to change the uplink connection from passive PA to the uplink switch.

Need to know if we unplug the fiber connection from PAssive PA and replace it with new fiber connection before doing this

1>Should I suspend the passive PA ?

2>Suspending the passive PA will stop the HA connection between them?

3>Once fiber is done on passive PA i can make it functional again?

Are above steps best possible way to avoid any failovers?

a passive unit does not monitor it's interfaces and even if there were a fault on the passive this will not impact the active's operational status

1. not necessary, but it could be considered good practice to suspend a member during maintenance

2. no, suspending a device will only make it non-participative in the failover process but devices will still sync up etc

3. that would be a good idea 🙂

there won't be failovers since all actions are taken on the passive
