From which version were you upgrading? Though this shouuldn't happen from any version.

What did the logs say? Were you getting decrypt errors for all traffic? Turn on decryption just for 1 user (yourself?) and investigate the issue for more details.

we have a PA 3050 with decryption enabled for about 180 users, cpu under 30% most of time.

Upgraded firmware to 8.1.8 on Sunday and late Monday afternoon all Https traffic failed, resolved by turning off decryption.

any ideas?

Hi,

we upgraded from 8.1.7 to 8.1.8

we did not see any issues prior to the upgrade and issue occured over 24 hours later.

the whole sites https traffic failed.

I have already switched back on for a reduced set of users and will gradualy increase, and will open support case if it occures again.

A bit suspicious that this has occured after a firmware upgrade 🙂

You weren't even changing any major release version, that is strange indeed.
