Good Morning:

What is the recommended version for the Palo Alto 3050 series firewalls? We are currently running 8.1.8

What are your thoughts on 9.0.2-h4? Are there any problems with it, or should we more likely than not be good to go?

There is one issue I have encountered on 9.x. Using an active directory group to limit GlobalProtect VPN doesn't work. I created a group for VPN users. It worked fine in 8.1.x. After I upgraded to 9 I had to allow everyone, becuase if I just scoped it to a group, no one could login. Besides that one bug, everything is working smooth on my PA-820.

@birkhojk,

Unless you need the feature set of 9.0 I would absolutely not recommend it be utilized in a production environment at this time. I currently work with a customer utilizing 5280s at their edge and we've been running into a latency issue with 9.0.2, and there are plenty of open issues with 9.0 at this time.
