I did accept the key on both firewalls and then enabled encryption but again it caused issues with HA1 not coming back, also issues with then VPN tunnel (as before) and also user ID didnt work i had to run the command "debug user-id refresh group-mapping all" to get that working again.

So obviously there is issues with enabling encryption for HA

HA1 encryption issues?

Hi

Random question but has anyone had any issues when enabling HA1 encryption?

I performed a BPA yesterday and noticed that we do not have HA1 encryption enabled. I looked into it and seemed like a very simple/quick win to do and after following step 6 from here and commiting the change HA1 goes down.

The firewall stays up and operational just the HA1 connection remains down. As soon as i disable encryption, HA1 comes back fine. Also we noticed that during this period, it caused an issue with one of our vpn tunnels. On our side it was all green but it seems that the 3rd party had to restart the tunnel on their end to get it working properly

Has anyone else had these random issues when enabling encryption on HA?

Dear CRDF18,

please try the following steps:

SSH into FW2 sourcing from FW1 (just connect and accept the key)

SSH into FW1 sourcing from FW2 (just connect and accept the key)

Enable HA1 encryption again and let us know the outcome 🙂

Kind regards,

Rene
