Hi,

How to upgrade a Panorama server from 7.1.x to 8.1.x. Also, I heard about the log migration after upgrading to 8.0. So what should be the procedure to follow for this upgrade.

Update to 7.1.24
Update to 8.0.2
Update to 8.0.19
Migrate the logs
Update to 8.1.0
Update to 8.1.9

What you should also consider is changing the panorama to "panorama" mode. This is also possible starting with PAN-OS 8. But depending on your current setup this requires some changes. For example panorama mode no longer supports NFS storage for the logs.

Thanks for the info. Also, changing the panorama to "panorama" mode is it an a mandatory steps I should follow??
