Hi,

Firewall

DUAL ISP

ISP1 ETH1/1 IPSEC TUNNEL 1

ISP1 ETH1/2 IPSEC TUNNEL 2

ECMP Method HASH

I have ECMP enabled with DUAL ISP with two IPSEC tunnels going to another firewall with one ISP. What I am seeing is sometimes is IPSEC tunnel from Eth1/1 to the other firewall going over Eth1/2. How do I prevent this?

ECMP = Equal Cost... with Dual ISP.

By your design, you are agreeing/wanting for the FW to load-share between Eth1 and Eth2.

If you do not want this, then turn on the ECMP function, and only let the traffic go out via eth1.

If the VPN fails, then there should be a Monitor Profile, that the VPN can use, to initiate a backup tunnel on eth2.

You would have to enable the strict source path. This feature was introduced in PanOS 10.0 - https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/10-0/pan-os-new-features/networking-features/ecmp-strict-source-path.html
