Hello guys,

I have one requirement for pointing request to TACACS for login. If TACACS fails then only local login should work. Currently when i am configuring authentication sequence where TACACS is first priority and 2nd is local but it seems gateway is accepting both logins.

Is there any way we can tune this to primary tacacs and if tacacs fails, then only local login should accept ?

Mayur

It will go to the second login method only if the first method fails. You can check your authentication logs, but probably this is what is happening.

This would probably work to your requirement if the usernames and passwords were identical on each authentication option. So as long as the credentials were correct it would only use the first option. If the first option was unavailable then it would try the second. not really what the authentication sequence is used for though...
