    <description>&lt;P&gt;hello all,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i'm trying to create snmpv3 user account with read-only permission but when i went through the option on GUI there was nothing about specifying the permission whether it's read-only or read &amp;amp; write.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i would really appreciate the help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Is this still an outstanding issue for you.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;To the best of my knowledge, you would create the readonly account in SNMP within your network mgt utility.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;On the PANW FW, you are merely creating an record/config that will use the snmp account name created on the snmp application.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;there is no ability to create a local snmpv3 account on the FW.&amp;nbsp; We are sending traps TO the snmp app.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I think the question was whether or not you can set the SNMP stuff on the Palo to be "read-only" or "read &amp;amp; write". Within the GUI, there is no option to specify this.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Since it is called "SNMP Monitoring", I suspect that an SNMP user can only *read*, though not explicitly stated.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
