I was indeed under the impression that would have been the case.

I'm able to capture the number of session globally on the device, but would SNMP allow you also to capture the sessions specific on a certain interface?

Hi all,

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a report that on a daily base (with a monthly overview) would should me the average amount of concurrent sessions for that period, based on a specific virtual wire or interface.

I noticed that through the CLI I can get this information:

show session all filter hw-interface ethernet1/1 count yes

Number of sessions that match filter: 1874

But could I have it also in a report with a calculated average?

Thanks

Daan

all reports are based on information collected through sessions (bytes count, number of sessions see for an application, ...) , not session runtime statistics. To create reports like this you'd have to set up an SNMP server (a free one like cacti will do the job) to collect these runtime stats and compile averages based on your preferences

i don't think there are individual 'avg sessions' counters for interfaces, just the traffic in/out, errors etc, and the global ones for throughput and sessions etc
