Thanks for helping me Kiwi. I just wanted to add this is what someone on my team told me that I needed to do in order to set this up. Looks like 4 separate steps does this make sense? So if I just do Step 4 you mentioned will it take care of the stuff hes talking about?.

Hi Randolp,

To add the IPv6 addresses to the tunnel and have them actually communicate, the following would need to take place:

Enable IPv6 on the tunnel interface and any layer 3 interface on the Firewall that will have an IPv6 network on it. Give the interface the correct IPv6 address and range.

Add the IPv6 range to the crypto map for the appropriate range on each side of the tunnel

Point an IPv6 route through the tunnel for the range on the other side

Verify that the Access rule on the firewall allows traffic from the IPv6 range between the site to site zone and the inside zone

Palo Alto has good documentation for each one of these steps. You should be able to google each one.

Does anyone know how or were I can locate documentation on enabling and adding IPV6 IP into my existing VPN tunnel? I have been looking in Beacon training but I cant find what chapter or training this actually falls under. All I was give from the customer were IPV6 Ips that I have to add to my FW. FW is on 9.1.6. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi @Randolp_Technologent ,

Step 4 in the following DOC discusses enabling IPv6 on the tunnel interface:

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/9-1/pan-os-admin/vpns/set-up-site-to-site-vpn/set-up-an-ipsec-tunnel.html

Cheers,

-Kiwi.
