Proper procedure for updating an extension

I tried this and it seemed to work, just want to be sure it is the right procedure.

1. Disable/delete existing extension wheel

2. Upload/activate updated extension wheel

Is there any negative impact on the nodes using the prototypes and classes of the removed extension between steps 1 and 2?

Hi @andrew.stanton,

if you have a new version of an existing extension you don't need to deactivate the former version, you can just upload and activate the new one. The old version should be automatically deactivated.
