Symptom


Symptoms

JIRA integration fails with the following error message: "A test alert could not be sent. There was an error creating the issue. Response from JIRA: <Property> is required."

Diagnosis

Check if the JIRA project contains any required, custom fields

Resolution


JIRA integration does not support custom fields.  Since Evident Monitoring only define basic properties when creating a JIRA ticket, the JIRA ticket will fail to create if any custom properties are expected/required.  To resolve this issue, remove any required custom fields from the JIRA issue.

 

Alternative workaround: Instead of configuring JIRA integration, use SNS integration and trigger a lambda function to call JIRA's API endpoint to create tickets with the desired fields.
