So a couple of weeks ago, I challenged the Palo Alto Networks Live Community to our yearly show-off competition, and you came through with some very creative (and scary) prose!  This pleases me!

So without further ado, let's get the ceremony started!

We received 21 submissions this time around! This is pretty awesome and made it hard for us to choose, but we did our best and managed to pick our favorites, so here goes.

The first runner-up is @LukeBullimore for his great submission:

How to spook malware...?
...go trick or treating with my...
shiny new firewall!

I'd love to get a picture of you and your firewall going door-to-door, maybe dressed in a bedsheet, or carrying a little scythe—just saying. Maybe next year? :D

You, sir, will be getting a missive from myself regarding all the loot you will be receiving for your penmanship.

Which brings us **drumroll** to the winner!

The jury did many tabulations. We sat in a big old circle, threw tea leaves in a cup, stirred the cauldron and made spooky sounds, and finally decided that @devora would be the champion for a truly horrifying short story.

Readers beware, this piece of poetry will upset you and cause great anguish:

I wrote all the rules
oh no forgot to commit
Now I work weekend

If that didn't send a cold shiver down your spine, I don't know what will!

You too shall be receiving a messenger bat, so we can send you boatloads of epic loot to celebrate your achievement of terrifying us! (pictures also appreciated ;) )

Honorable mention goes out to @MickBall for a creepy haiku and some wisecracking about not wanting a hoodie (so you're not getting one). :P

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for your contributions! There were some really great reads, and it was hard for us to pick our favorites.

Stay tuned for more weird challenges. ;)
