RESTORING CONFIGURATION BETWEEN PLATFORMS
Are you planning a hardware upgrade and want to reuse a configuration file? Are you trying to figure out how to go about restoring a backup configuration from a PA5000 series to a PA3000? Maybe you've already checked out Quality of Service and limited or guaranteed bandwidth based on application, but there's another cool trick the firewall can do—policy based forwarding or PBF. Policy based forwarding allows you to bypass the routing table in favor of routing options dictated by a policy configurable based on applications, source or destination.
