Can we export certain objects via a XML file

L0 Member

Hello !

On MT we can export our objects (addresses, groups, policies, etc.) to excel. So I was wondering : can we do the same but instead of an excel file we export the objects in a XML file ?

For now the only two ways to export something in a XML file is when you export the base configuration or the whole project (at least that's what I've found).

If you have any idea, I'd be glad to hear them out !

export in XML format is not currently supported.

The use of the excel format is to allow for offline reviewing of the migrated results. For example for those that may not have access to Expedition to assist with the review of the migrated configurations.

Can you describe your use case to export in XML? If you generate a base config and merge the results you will already have those configs in XML format and can use options like load config partial (aritcle linked below) to selectively move XML snippets from one PAnOS xml config to another.

Thank you for your answer !

Well because we are migrating from an old Checkpoint firewall, we decided to use csv files. I know that "export to excel" is made to review things offline, but we use it to convert the data into csv files which work for expedition.
