CLI debug pcap verbosity levels

L1 Bithead

I've been using the cli debug pcap captures for a number of issues recently but was frustrated in the last one by a lack of detail. In this case I was capturing OSPF (debug routing pcap ospf on). When I viewed the capture it looks more like a summary of the hello messages without the contents.

Is there a generic was to turn up the level of information in these pcaps? I'm not asking for tips specific to OSPF troubleshooting, I'm looking for a magic wand that can control the level of verbosity in any of the non-dataplane debug pcaps.

Are you using these instructions for the CLI captures?

I think these are basically filters on tcpdump directly.  I had not noticed any truncations of information using this method.
