Captive Portal not working in V-Wire mode on version 4.1.2

L4 Transporter

Hi Guys,

Scenario:  Palo Alto installed in Virtual Wire mode between HP 5412 L3 switch and Threat Management Gateway (TMG) simliar to ISA which is also a Proxy Server with port 8081.  Traffic passes through Palo Alto for content filtering and works fine (10.0.0.0/8).  Captive Portal was configured for wireless users on 172.16.0.0/16 network with a physical interface configured for L3.  Everything is configured correctly, but do not understand why we are unable to get the captive portal page up and running to access the internet.

Thoughts please...

Kind Regards,

Kal

Hi Kal, do you have user identification enabled on the source Zone which applies to the new L3 interface you created for your wireless users?  Do you have Captive Portal configured to redirect or to be transparent?  Perhaps you could post your configuration for review?

Yes, everything has been enabled and configured properly.  The issue was with TMG in terms of routing traffic in a different direction.  The Palo was placed in virtual wire mode in-front of the TMG.  So far things have fallen into place.

Cheers...
