PA-500 registration

L1 Bithead

Hi there,

I am completely new on this platform, to start learning this firewall I got myself a used PA-500 from the online market.

I would like to register the device so that I can downloads updates unfortunately, I have got the device serial number but not

the "Sales Order Number or Customer Id".  What can I do the register the firewall and download evaluation software.

Many thanks for your help.

Hi @bngala , welcome to the world of tomorrow!

You'll need to go through the second market policy: https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/services/support/support-policies/secondary-market-policy

According to policy:

"Devices that are currently end-of-sale cannot be re-certified. For our current end-of-life policy and listing of products, please see our support web site."

PA-500 went end-of-sale year ago.

Hi there,
Many thanks for your help, when I checked on the device dashboard
The item I bought the service support is until 29th, November 2019.
And also what I want is just an evaluation license for my hands on
Lab.
Thanks

Unfortunately that service does not belong to you and is not transferred to you when you bought the device.

This step will provide you with the order number:

  • Upon receipt of a purchased device on the secondary market, you must place two orders through a Palo Alto Networks authorized local reseller. The first order must be for a non-refundable certification fee and the second for a one time activation fee and the purchase of a one year support subscription (you may purchase a longer support subscription if desired but the purchase it at minimum a one year subscription). The purchase of other subscriptions or services are optional.
