PDF Summary Reports - How to increase the "TOP" hits in the TOP Denied Sources

Hello Experts,

I have a Daily Summary Reports where i have the output for almost 16 sources (meaning daily summary data on Top Connection, Top Destination countries, etc. etc). I noticed that it only displayes the "TOP 5", is there a way i can increase this? Perhaps even just for a single report (Top Denied Sources). My objective is to see the top 10 for that specific report only. Thanks a lot!!

Hi @Eugene_Alejandro,

From the help pages :

---

PDF summary reports contain information compiled from existing reports, based on data for the top 5 in each category.

---

I don't think PDF Summary reports allow you to change the numbers.

That being said, I haven't tested it by adding a custom widget to a new PDF Summary report.

But I do believe it will be throttled to a Top 5 even if you add a custom widget with a Top 100.

You could test this by creating a scheduled custom report with a bigger top list :

Scheduled Custom Report with a Bigger Top ListScheduled Custom Report with a Bigger Top List

You can then add this custom report to a new PDF Summary like this :

Add the custom report to a new PDF Summary ReportAdd the custom report to a new PDF Summary Report

Note that new PDF Summary Reports will not appear until after the report runs, which will occur automatically every 24 hours.

However, I still believe that the PDF Summary Report will throttle it at Top 5 (even if you configured a Top 100 in the custom report).

Alternatively, instead of using a PDF Summary Report you can just create a daily scheduled Custom Report which can easily provide you the information you desire.

Hope this helps !

Hello Kiwi, Thank you so much for your quick reply.

You are correct, the output report sums it all back to the Top5 list.

I will just go with the Daily Custom Report.

Thanks again.

@kiwi / everyone else.

I have another question that will trouble you with.

Here's a snapshot of my Daily Summary report. Please advise if its possible for me to exclude those specific local IPs that i boxed below? Sort of filtering and removing just these 2 IP address from my TOP Denied Sources report and showing the rest of the report? I tried my best going through the custom report options but no luck so far.

Hi @Eugene_Alejandro,

In the custom report options, via the query builder, you can negate those 2 addresses :

Thanks a lot @kiwi. I managed to control the hearbeat pings done by those 2 devices.

Though your suggestion is helpful, I used it on some other reports.
