Sequence number Randomization.

L2 Linker

Hi Guys,

ASA has a feature where it randomize TCP Sequence numbers to prevent hijack session.

Does palo alto has any similar feature.

Sorry to compare the products here. My intention is to configure similare setting in firewall.

Regards,

The only thing that the ASAs TCP randomization feature is doing is randomizing the client side ISN number so that it isn't sequential. I don't believe that the ISN number is sequential on the Palo Alto equipment either if I remember from past wiresharks. You might want to try getting a ticket opened and waiting for their response; we can try calling in @reaper as well, but this is more of a support case question in my mind.

Hi,

We don't randomize/adjust sequence IDs for sessions traversing the firewall.

There is an existing feature request for this.  If you would like to add more weight to it then please ask your local SE to add your vote to this feature (FR ID 2338).

Cheers !
