Setting up Palo FW in vwire mode between router and switch.

L0 Member

We currently have a Cisco switch and router with in our environment. The router does inter-VLAN routing for traffic coming from VLAN's (about 6) on switch; typically as in a ROAS setup. So the switch is L2 and router is L3.

Looking for a away to place the Palo Firewall transparently in between with two interfaces (eth 1/1 and eth 1/2); in vwire mode between the switch and router; so Eth 1/1 to connect to router and eth 1/2 to switch.

Due to setup at site, we couldn't change IP config on switch and router. Wondering, if this setup would work in vwire mode. If not vwire; any other mode of interface config would work?

It would work but be sure not to leave "Tag Allowed" blank while creating virtual wire because then it will pass through only untagged packets.
