Training - Labs

L0 Member

Hi all

I am currently doing training - Firewall Installation, Configuration, and Management: Essentials I for PAN-OS 7.0

It's not an online class. I've found it on My Learning page and I think it's good to start with.

Does anybody know whether there is a chance to do some labs? If yes, how do I set it up?

I just don't want to only read up on things, but also try them myself.

Thank you for any help.

Regards

Hi,

if you working on partner company, ask SE engineer in your reigon to provide you with demo lic for VMware version, and do all labs.

I did that and it was great.

Note:

don`t forget to select that option on your VMware settings.

To add onto what @Mohamed_Mabrouk said you may want to look into getting a lab license for a vm series device to actually test different configurations on anyways. It also might be worth doing a test drive for the features that you feel like you need to brush up on, as this gives you hands on practice (albeit very high level)  of configuring said features with someone from PAN to help walk you through anything if you get stuck setting something up.

Hello All,

l do agree with all comments. Licenses are essential with VM because without you will not be able to use the paid futures same time to monitor traffic logs etc (the biggest issue no logs). Apart of online official PAN free courses, you can check these below:

Thx,

If you're a part of the Fuel User Group, I think PA gave access to a lab environment for those members. I remember getting an email about it a couple months back but have never done it myself.

Dear @sullivanpj2

Hi @TranceforLife

i can not access the mentioned URL because it needs me to signup for cbtnuggets and i went through registeration process and it seems that it is not free, do you have another link for these video series ?

Regards

@AwbPaGpx,

The Fuel User Group is a community much like Live that is done by the Palo Alto Marketing department. It's quited down significantly and Live is taking more of a frontline, at least in my mind. They have a virtual test lab that will let you play around with 8.0 a little bit. You can go to fuelusergroup.org

The cbtnuggets courses are not free. The free training provided by Palo Alto can be found at https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/services/education on the bottom of the page. You can also view Palo Alto's videos at https://www.youtube.com/user/paloaltonetworks

Here is the request page for access to the free online lab from the Fuel User group.
