On August 6th multiple social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, & Apple (iTunes) removed infowars.com / Alex Jones content from their platforms. We now have users requesting access to this website from our network. Looking at our firewall logs it appears that on August 10th the PAN-DB update changed infowars.com from news --> questionable. This is a default blocked URL category by PAN-DB, and we also agree to keep this category blocked.
However, I do not believe this site should be listed as questionable. There has been a legit history of Infowars / Alex Jones exposing corruption and relaying truths to the masses. May we please be provided with an official statement from Palo Alto Networks as to why they decided to change the category for this website? This seems like a polical-based motive over actual news content on the site.
Thanks again for your URL re-categorization request. After evaluation of the information provided, we have determined that the original categorization is the most appropriate, based on our URL category definitions. At this time, no change has been made to the category for this URL.
