Wildfire Submissions

Not applicable

Hi,

Just deployed my first Palo Alto device.  My question revolves around the Wildfire Submissions area of the Monitor page.  When we first turned on Wildfire, events would appear for each time a file was submitted to Wildfire.  But then no events for Wildfire Submissions stopped appearing.  However if I log into the Wildfire portal, I can see the files are being submitted and analyzed.  Under traffic and threats, new events are appearing.  I am only seeing the problem under Wildfire Submissions.  Does anyone have a suggestion for troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Hi Bob

WHat version of PAN are You using?

I'm on 5.0.9 and I observed the same behaviour.

Slawek

Hi Slawek,

I figured out the problem.  We made a policy change not to report on benign files.  I went to configuration on the monitor tab and looked for a change that was committed around the time I stopped seeing events and saw that change.  Now we only see items confirmed as malware in the logs.

Hi

You wrote: "We made a policy change not to report on benign files"

Could You share me a screenshot with such config? I can't find this option in GUI ...

Hi.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Device Tab
  2. Click Setup (on left)
  3. Click Wildfire Tab
  4. Click small Edit icon of General Settings
  5. There is a check box at the bottom to configure reporting benign files.  Screen print shows this window.  reportbenignfiles.jpg

On 5.0.9 there isn't such options so I guess that You are using 6.0.x PAN.

Anyway - thank You for your help.

Regards

Slawek

I am on 6.x.
