Issue

Users are able to bypass URL filtering profiles.

Resolution

  • This issue is related to policy placement.
  • The policy with the URL filtering profile was configured with a source/any, destination/any to block WWW, but it was placed at the bottom of the security policies.
  • Non-specific policies (no source or destination IP's or /Users) allowing the app "web-browsing" were created above this policy so users were able to web-browse without hitting the block in the URL filter.
