Symptom


  • HTTP to HTTPS redirection for GlobalProtect portal supported on PA firewall

Environment


  • PAN-OS 8.0.0 and above
  • GlobalProtect Portal

Resolution


PAN-OS 8.0 introduced redirection of HTTP to HTTPS connections for GlobalProtect Portals.

This is enabled by default.

Additional Information


To disable this functionality, create a security rule blocking TCP port 80 towards the GlobalProtect Portal.
