How to Parse the Configuration from the CLI

Overview

Palo Alto Networks devices have multiple options for parsing the configuration when working with the output of a show command.

Steps

To access configuration, use the following commands:

> configure

# show

You will now be in a mode where the configuration can be parsed.

The following are some helpful commands:

/pattern     - Search forward for (N-th) matching line

?pattern    - Search backward for (N-th) matching line

n              - Repeat previous search (for N-th occurrence)

N             - Repeat previous search in reverse direction
