Resolution


Issue

Phase 1 Tunnel is not coming up. The following error appears in the ikemgr.log:

[PROTO_ERR]: 0:? - 10.10.78.254[500]:(nil):ignore the packet, expecting the packet encrypted.

 

Resolution

The error indicates that the pre-shared keys on both ends did not match.

This may be due to incorrectly inputting the keys or the key value not being applied in the IKE profile.

 

Re-enter the pre-shared key on the IKE Gateway configuration under Network > Network Profiles > IKE Gateway and commit.
