Upgrade error - 'Server error: The device does not have support'

Resolution


Issue

The firewall is registered, authorization codes have been put in and the support page shows valid entitlement, but the firewall returns the following error when attempting to upgrade:

 

Server error: The device does not have support

 

Resolution

Forcing the firewall to re-check against the entitlement server will resolve this issue. To do so:

  • Open the Software page on the Device tab
  • At the bottom left will be a 'Check Now' button. Click this button to have the firewall refresh it's data with the entitlement server

  • This should allow you to upgrade the PAN-OS.
