Added Prefix to objects

We used to have an option to add a prefix to object in v2 of the migation tool globaly. We use this to help identify objects when we imported into our panorama from out other objects, and then clean up within panorama later on.

If this is still available in v3, can I get some direction on how to perform this?

Thank you

David

Re: Added Prefix to objects

Hi,

We removed that option in 3.0 but we are working in a new way to add/remove/edit prefixes for newer version 3.3 later this year.

PD. If you can generate a CSV file you can make the changes there and then reimport using the CSV option into the tool?

Thanks

Re: Added Prefix to objects

Thank your for the reply. We will await the update, but in the mean time if we need to how would we use the importing of a csv into the migration tool, after we had imported a configuration from the original that would contain all the objects for that particular policy, such as checkpoint.

Re: Added Prefix to objects

@dwmaas I have script to add suffix/prefix to objects from a panos config file or API

Give a try to "address-edit.php" utility from PAN-Configurator

I dont have yet a webpage for this script to explain how it works or give examples but it is very simular to rules-edit.php syntax
