How to create eth0 in VM

I just convert the VM to ESX(i) format,

after boot up machine, how can I setup the eth0,

command ifconfig -a  show loopback interface only

I first switched the interface type from "flexible" to "E1000", and then I saw the interface (although it wasn't eth0).  Putting an IP on it was done through "sudo ifconfig" commands, and then I used the "sudo route" command to add a default gateway.  I haven't figured out a way yet to make the settings permanent, but I can at least get to the tool this way.  The tool needs a bit of work in terms of making it a smooth deployment for sure.

In order to change the ip address and keep the changes use:

sudo nmtui

And edit the interface, the changes will be saved and survive to a reboot
