Re: Migration Tool 3.1 Beta Testing has started !

Just a couple minor ones...

  • Column sorting appears to be broken (only tested in Chrome 43.0.2357.134)
  • No way to sort by unused objects (maybe I'm missing something here)
    • If the above is true can you please add an "Unused Objects" filter to the "Filters and Search" drop down?
  • From the "Monitor, Logs and Reports" tab and then the "Audit Logs" sidebar the following action spelling should be fixed:
    • "No Action Requiered" --> "No Action Required"
  • The global summary tab (colored bar chart logo) does not contain statistics on "Security Profile" utilization, however clicking on the ouput tab and then "Device Usage" shows this.  Since this is a useful metric can you please add it to the global summary as well?  It would be nice to have all 12 values from the "Recommended Platform" section on the global summary as corollary statistics under the "Project Statistics".

Thanks for all the hard work!

Edit:

Also if you try to "Update" after you manually upload the bundle the VM will revert to the latest version of 3.0.  Caught me off guard but a warning message would be ideal.  Not sure if there's risk to breaking anything by doing that.

Re: Migration Tool 3.1 Beta Testing has started !

Hi,

Thanks to spend time providing all this feedback we really appreciate.

1) What is the column that are you trying to sort for?

2) The filter by Unused its planned to be added in 3.1.1

3) Requiered thing. We already fixed and the change will be released at the official release day (July 31st 2015)

4) We will check if makes sense to add the profiles on that view :-)

And yes, When you click on Update you will get latest Official version. I cannot see potential issues when you got back but caution :-)

Re: Migration Tool 3.1 Beta Testing has started !

Hi Albert,

I am running MT3.1 beta on VMware Fusion. After restarting the VM(stage 4 above), the web server doesn't start. A quick look at netstat -an confirms it:

Re: Migration Tool 3.1 Beta Testing has started !

Hi,

Do you know if your MigrationTool was downloaded from this forum or from a Box account? Have you tried to do a poweroff and a restart to see if works again? It's weird..

Re: Migration Tool 3.1 Beta Testing has started !

Bertrand,

I appear to have the same issue:

[admin@PanMigrationTool ~]$ netstat -an

Active Internet connections (servers and established)

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address           Foreign Address         State

tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:25            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN

tcp6       0      0 ::1:25                  :::*                    LISTEN

tcp6       0      0 :::443                  :::*                    LISTEN

tcp6       0      0 :::80                   :::*                    LISTEN

tcp6       0      0 :::22                   :::*                    LISTEN

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:514             0.0.0.0:*

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:68              0.0.0.0:*

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:47813           0.0.0.0:*

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:5353            0.0.0.0:*

udp6       0      0 :::49075                :::*

raw6       0      0 :::58                   :::*                    7

However, the system is clearly listening on it's IPv4 address (192.168.80.131), as I can telnet on 80/443 and open a session. I can also open a browser session, but it's blank!

I redownloaded the migration tool from Download Migration Tool 3, ran the latest update, then downloaded the beta bundle from here and installed it, rebooted the VM, and again am seeing the same issue. I've tried multiple browsers to be sure it's not just a chrome thing. It looks like the source I'm getting for the blank page in my browser is the following:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
   <meta charset="UTF-8">
   <title>MigrationTool3</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="resources/MT3-all.css"/>
<script type="text/javascript" src="app.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/ext/ext-theme-neptune.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/resources/js/objectName_vtype.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/resources/js/examples.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/resources/js/swfobject/swfobject.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/resources/js/ext.util.md5.js"></script>
   <link rel="stylesheet" href="/resources/css/MT3.css" id="MigrationTool">
   <link rel="stylesheet" href="/resources/css/example.css" id="examples">
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Any ideas? I've reproduced this problem on another system as well, downloading the migration tool and beta bundle there. I'm running VMware player 7.1.2 on a Win7 Pro 64-bit system with a Core i5 and 8GB of RAM. The VM has a single vCPU and 1GB Ram.

Thanks!

Nasir
