Unable to add/register Transit firewalls on AWS to Panorama (on prem)

L1 Bithead

Hello, We have recently setup two Palo Altos in Transit VPC on AWS but I'm unable to add them to a on prem panorama. The status of both devices on Panorama shows disconnected. VM-Series plugins are installed on both firewalls and Panorama. Am I missing something?

Does your management interface have a route to Panorama and vice versa?  Assuming you are using the Transit VPC for VPN connectivity to on-prem that would typically not encompass the Management Interface.  You may need to add a service route so all Panorama communications occur from a routable address such as Eth1/1 or a loopback added to BGP.

You also need to allow the relevant ports from the FW to Panorama. Communication flows from the FW to Panorama on specific ports depending upon functionality:

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/8-1/pan-os-admin/firewall-administration/reference-port-num...

The main one is TCP/3978 but TCP/28443 is necessary for the FW to pull updates.
