The first day of Ignite ‘20 has wrapped up and LIVEcommunity members as well as your friendly Community Team really enjoyed the wild ride!

James Corden kicked off the event with an incredible discussion on security with Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora, followed by a great talk all about our technologies by Founder & CTO Nir Zuk. The keynotes were capped off by the amazing Dr. Condoleezza Rice, who talked with Nikesh Arora about a wide-ranging set of topics. As Day 2 is happening now, you can still sign up at our event page and gain access to recordings of the breakout sessions, with lots of deep-dive talks about our tech and upcoming features, plus insights from top industry experts.

LIVEcommunity Coffee Table Chats

LIVEcommunity, alongside the Fuel User Groups, hosted a pair of coffee table chat sessions on Day 1. Our marvelous community solution engineers, @kiwi and @jdelio, were there to meet, greet, run a demo of the LIVEcommunity, and answer questions. Special shout out to Cyber Elites @OtakarKlier and @BPry who are joining these chats! We appreciate you taking time out of your days to join. (And that goes for everyone attending -- Thank you!)

My favorite part of Ignite is to not only hear from all of the customers in the Coffee table chats, but to also learn more about the new technologies from the breakout sessions.” --Joe Delio (@jdelio)

And the questions were great! Some topics discussed included:

  • Learning, certification and training: where to learn and Beacon
  • Where did the LIVEcommunity members come from? What devices are they familiar with?
  • Transitioning from the Cisco world to Palo Alto Networks
  • Accidentally rebooting the wrong Palo Alto device
  • Rolling out GlobalProtect to 5000 users and challenges
  • Pre-logon vs on-demand for GlobalProtect
  • Using certificates for GlobalProtect Auth
  • Who is using PAN-OS 10?
  • PA-220 devices... are they really that slow?
  • The Cyber Elite program on LIVEcommunity
  • Whitepapers and where to find them? TechDocs and resource pages
  • Fuel User Group and the Test Lab there

Please join a Day 2 coffee talk, if you can! (More info here.) We’d really appreciate meeting and getting to know the LIVEcommunity a little better, plus you can connect with other community members at the same time!

How to Get the Good Playback Stuff!

Did you miss any sessions? If you log into the Ignite platform, at the top right you can click on the two lines and a drop-down menu will appear. Click on “Library” to be directed to the recorded sessions from yesterday.

Here are some of the recorded sessions:

  • 5 Advanced Threat-Hunting Techniques You Should be Using
  • Best Practices for Managing Firewalls with Panorama
  • Overcoming Data Loss Prevention Challenges
  • Enabling Cloud Delivered Network Security with Prisma Access

There are many more! These recorded sessions are great to check out, because you can go back and hear info as many times as you like, and you can watch presentations if you happened to miss them yesterday.

Reminder: How to Win a Prize at Ignite

Among the assortment of virtual expo booths at Ignite, one of them is Customer Communities! This is where the LIVEcommunity is sitting, alongside Fuel User Group. If you scan your badge at our booth and fill out the short survey, you have a chance to win a really great prize!

During Ignite, we’re recognizing members who engage with us in the LIVEcommunity during the event by sharing our blogs, or by liking and commenting! If you do engage with us, we’ll be giving you a special badge!

If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to jump on the Ignite ‘20 discussion and ask us anything!

Great day indeed! This is an Ignite for the books for sure!  Nice to see some of our community members in our Customer Communities Booth to chat! Plus, loved the discussions in the coffee table chats with our experts. Big thank you to our very own solution engineers @jdelio and @kiwi for welcoming and facilitating a coffee chat. Also, our very own Cyber Elite experts @BPry and @OtakarKlier sharing their wealth of knowledge and expertise with all of us.
