Security Groups in AWS provide the basic port/protocol and ACL security that reduces the attack surface. VM-Series complements this by providing protection against all the advanced attack vectors, so you'd setup the security groups as the base security and then let VM-Series do the full suite of protection. Most customers prefer to set a base security group policy and not tinker with it daily, and use a single console to setup security policies.Panorama can coordinate the policy for both public and private cloud. This allows the security policy in public cloud (on VM-Series) to be consistent with on-premises security policy on hardware or virtual firewalls.
