BGP between PA

L1 Bithead

Hi all,

as per attached diagram,is there some solution for which PA-VM-3 could "see" PA-VM-1,trough PA-VM-2?

Is there some kind of BGP configuration in order that PA-VM-2 could share PA-VM-1 routes to PA-VM-3?

Thanks in advance,

MG

Hello @MGMGMG

thank you for reply.

I see. What you configured in your lab should be functional in production. As long as PA Firewalls have reachability to build a BGP session. After sessions are established and you configured advertisements of local subnets behind each PA, then every Firewall will learn all prefixes.

Kind Regards

Pavel

Hello @MGMGMG

based on diagram you provided, you have eBGP peering between PA-VM-3 and PA-VM-2 as well as eBGP peering between PA-VM-2 and PA-VM-1. The BGP routes should be propagated end to end without additional configuration unless there is filter or next hop resolution failure or anything else preventing route to go into routing table. You could alternatively build eBGP multi hop directly between PA-VM-1 and PA-VM-3. This should work as long as each of the VM has loopback interface reachability. This is however not necessary unless there is some design that dictates it. What is the issue you are dealing with?

Hi Pavel,

thanks for reply.

No issue at the moment, just planning a future configuration.

Obviously the real escenario is quite different, basically there are something like 20 different sites connected together with eBGP over IPSec.Is configured in this way looking for a future SD-WAN IPSec migration.

Now there are 3 sites which are configured in MPLS and needed to be migrate to eBGP over IPSec(basically sites in the diagram)and i was looking for for a temporary configuration avoiding building IPSec tunnels between these 3 sites and the rest of sites.

Hope i explaines the enviroment.

Thanks in advance,

MG
