Investigating ABIOCS

L0 Member

I'm investigating the cause of ABIOC alerts. We've seen one particular alert that appears to be a false positive but I'd like to get some more information to be sure and to understand these alerts better:

Name: Suspicious process accessed a site masquerading as Google

Are there any resources that would be helpful to better understand these? In the case of the above alert the site in question turned out to belong to Google.

Hi,

Can you check the destination IP? It is unlikely to be Google. I have seen that multiple times where there was proxy in the middle. The reason is that the certificate claims to go to Google but the connection is between client and proxy. As the analytics module will learn, this alert involving proxy might eventually disappear.

Regards,

Bertrand

The IP address is indeed Google. However, I wonder if there is an issue because of SSL inspection that is causing the issue?
