I'm told Ubuntu 16.04 goes out of support at the end of April. Is there an update on the recommended version of Ubuntu to use, and are there any issues upgrading to the latest LTS version?

We are working on a new expedition release to upgrade the platform to Ubuntu 18 which will be referred to as expedition 2.0, however expedition 1.0 in it's current form will only work with Ubuntu 16. Currently expedition 2.0 is not ready for consumption as it is still in it's testing phase but we are hoping to have it ready by May.
