Remote Exception Error when adding new API KEY

L1 Bithead

Hello,

We have deployed a new expedition vm on aws cloud using Ubuntu Pro 16.04 LTS version.

we are getting the following error when we try to add a new api key as shown in the screenshot. we have checked all the logs under /var/log and didn't notice anything related to this.

I've found the logs below under /var/log/apache2/error.log but doesn't seem to be related.

[Tue May 04 14:43:46.783602 2021] [:error] [pid 2382] [client 172.18.118.114:58776] PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /var/www/html/libs/settings/PackageVersionChecker.php on line 79, referer: https://10.151.88.31/

Also, for information we have a second expedition VM on AWS version 1.1.95 and adding API key works fine.

Any idea about the root cause of this issue ?

Thank you

this is most certainly a bug. I managed to work around it though.

Go to your firewall api page "https://<FW MGMT IP ADDRESS>/restapi-doc/#tag/key-generation/paths/~1api~1?type=keygen/get
Use postman (or any other api tool) to generate the API key for ADMIN user. and copy the API key that's returned.
switch to the expedition and when trying to add "Authentication API Keys" - switch the "Auth. Type:" from "username and password" to "API KEY"
Paste the API key here.

Hello @OUAHID

Make sure the account that is making the API request has sufficient permissions within the firewall or panorama device, also I would suggest you delete and re-add the device back in as sometimes there are issues with the initial add of a device.

Hello @azuniga ,

Thank you for your response.

I've actually tried this without success.

I've actually also tried to add the API KEY that i've generated by doing a
get for the keygen, it seems that it is added , but it doesn't detect the
panorama.

Hello @OUAHID ,

Instead of adding in the API key for retrieval can you try to add in your admin credentials to see if it works?

Hello @azuniga,

It doesn't work when adding the admin account.

I'll wait for version 2 to verify that the issue is resolved.
