Application Filter Traffic Reports

L1 Bithead

Is it possible to view traffic related to a specific application filter through the "Monitor" tab? For example, if I setup an application filter for the "gaming" subcategory, can I view the related traffic without specifying each application individually or generating a custom report? I'm running Panorama 7.1.5 and I'm not seeing an option to filter it on subcategory. Just want to be sure that I'm not missing something.

Thanks!

-Bob.

The only option for doing this is through a custom report and specificity (subcategory-of-name eq gaming). To the best of my knowledge you can't actually filter like that on the monitor tab.

Yes, custom report will work. Traffic log doesn't have app category field, besides you would just get a (long) list of sessions.

Another way is also a custom widget in ACC.

Yes, custom reports are the answer.

Monitor tab > Manage Custom Reports

Select the type of database (for example Traffic Summary) and add the desired columns.

In the Query builder below you can add :

(subcategory-of-app eq gaming)

Click OK when done.

You can of course Schedule the report and have it mailed to you periodically.  Alternatively just hit the 'Run Now' option on the top to get the result right away :
