Dependency of templates and device groups, Panorama.

L1 Bithead

Hi all,

I would like to know if it would be possible to create a rule in Panorama's device group with and object from a template (like a certificate in my example).

Thanks.

Hi @TelecoRed

Unfortunately no. If you need to configure something that requires configuration parts from the templates, you have to configure them in a device group where the actual firewall is attached to.

Hi @TelecoRed

Where did you configure the certificate? Is it in a template in shared context for a firewall or in a specific vsys? And: did you try to create the rule in a device group which is actually attached to a firewall instead of the shared context?

Hello @Remo,

The certificate is stored in a shared location. I was trying to create the rule in a shared device group. Now, after read your comment I had configured the rule in a specific device group and it works. Thaks for your help, do you know if it is possible to configure a shared rule using a certificate in Panorama (shared or specific location)?.

Regards
