Enabling Jumbo Frames on HA Pair

L2 Linker

I have an active passive PA850 pair, and want to turn on jumbo frames.

I wondering about the best order-

Can I:

do the passive unit first, and reboot

fail over and do the primary then fail back.

Any issues with the HA function while one unit has jumbo enabled and the other does not?

Was thinking I'd manually set all interfaces to 1500 first

Any other advice?

Thanks

Hi,

I have done that in the past, just be prepare the stateful information may not get sync up due to the MTU difference.  Do this in a maintenance windows or low traffic time  The only reason why you will want to enable jumbo frame is your network is jumbo enabled.  If not, you may need to adjust the mtu on all the interfaces.
