GlobalProtect opening Windows VPN settings

L0 Member

My company recently set up GlobalProtect to have us work from home. It works for everyone but myself. When I installed the app, it installed through the Microsoft App Store. When I try to run GlobalProtect, all it does is open a popup window with a link that opens my windows vpn settings. In other words, GlobalProtect doesn't actually run or do anything and this is not occurring for any of my other co-workers. My company's IT team doesn't know how to address the issue. My OS is WIndows 10 Proglobalprotect1.png

Hello Pbourque,

Based on my experience it is better to install and use GlobalProtect installation package for Windows rather than GlobalProtect application published in the Microsoft App Store.

I believe you can download it directly from your company's GlobalProtect VPN portal. Your company's IT team should be able to provide you with an URL address of the portal. Just go to this URL address using any modern browser, log in into the portal using your Windows credentials and you will get to a web page with a link to an installation package. Please use this user guide for more detailed instructions.

Best regards,

Daniel

I did download it from the portal through the link provided by the IT team. From the portal I downloaded the WIndows 64-bit version of the app. When I attempted to install it, my pc opened up Microsoft Store to install it. I don't know why, none of my other coworkers have had this happen to them and they are able to use the app as it was intended, while I'm being forced to use Windows VPN, which isn't working.

Thank you for replying.

Hello Pbourque,

Have you tried to uninstall GlobalProtect app that was installed via Microsoft Store?

Do your colleagues use GlobalProtect app installed using GlobalProtect for Windows installation package or GlobalProtect app installed from Microsoft Store?

Best regards,

Daniel
