Dear All,

Is there is any other chance to configure the internet via usb dongle in the Palo alto firewall.

The USB port on the device can only be used to bootstrap the device. Network connections need to be achieved through the network interfaces

There is, however, a feature request outstanding to add this functionality. If you reach out to your loacal sales team, you can have your vote added to FR ID: 4443

Don't forget the feature of charging your smartphone at the firewalls USB port 😉

I have added FR ID 4443 to the topic for feature requests here in the Live community: https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/General-Topics/Feature-Request-List/m-p/209128#M61154

Hello @Remo ,

Nice call on the USB charging your phone! In the past we ran into this with other products and back then we relied on a [product made by Cradlepoint. It was your basic USB to ethernet 'modem' so the firewall would just need the ethernet handoff.

Regards,

We already have some small firewalls where we do it this way 😉

Its definitly a decent way to keep connectivity to a site if the hardline goes down.

Yes, it's definitely possible but you need to have at least a little technical knowledge to configure Palo alto firewall.
