Risky For Use Public IP as Private IP Security Concerned

Hi Expert ,

 

Please help to clarify that about risky for use Public IP as Private IP on Local Network due to we have plan to cut off the new network and existing network we use subnet like public subnet  we would like to defend that to change it about security concern to use public ip as private ip

Hi @Pattarachai-FTH ,

 

Using a private IP address is definitely more secure than using a public IP address. In addition you will save on valuable address space using private IP addresses.

 

Private addresses are not directly reachable over the internet and can only be reached using NAT.

 

Please check NAT configuration examples or check various aspects of NAT.

@kiwi  I understood about fundamental we should be  NAT for Private but I would like to know about risk in case  that we use The Public IP subnet not following RFC1918 will more security concern or not  because we will convince to change  subnet as following RFC1918
